The Gallery of Sertum Botanicum lithographs

The gallery displays scanned images of the hand-colored lithographs prepared by "Une Societe de Botanistes," published by Pierre Corneille Van Geel in Brussels, and issued in installments as Sertum Botanicum starting in 1828.

Contents are arranged alphabetically by the botanical name of the plant.   Collections can be found under the Sertum Botanicum tab on the left side of this page.

Only a few scanned images are up today, but the collection will become more complete day by day.  In addition, when the images have been put up, I will begin to add the scanned images of the pages of text that accompanied each plant.  The languages used in our Sertum Botanicum are Latin and French.  Translations into English will be added to the website when the addition of the scanned text is complete.  Further, I hope to link both common names and botanical names to the images so that a lithograph of a particular plant can be found easily.
